NAAFA Goes Green!
In support of a greener America, NAAFA will provide their annual fund raising convention attendees with convention totes and notebooks made from recycled materials.
OAKLAND, CA July 28, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- NAAFA will celebrate our 40th anniversary during our annual fund raising convention at the Dulles Airport Marriott in Washington, D.C., 7/31 - 8/1/09. In support of President Obama's campaign for a greener America, NAAFA convention planners asked our members to help our efforts to go green by bring along a badge pack from a previous convention thereby saving the organization much needed funds as well as helping save the planet but we didn't stop there.
As part of NAAFA's convention package for members registered for our full event, they will receive a special anniversary convention tote bag constructed from recycled water bottles. The water bottles are recycled by breaking them down into flakes, and then the flakes are spun into yarn. The tote has a polyurethane backing (not PVC) and meets the highest international product safety standards.
Additionally attendees will receive a Recycled Color Spine Spiral Notebook with recycled front and back cover panels and 100% recycled lined sheet paper.
NAAFA encourages other organizations and companies worldwide to follow our example. Seek suppliers of recycled products and do your part to save the planet.
Founded in 1969, NAAFA is a non-profit civil rights organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for fat people. NAAFA works to eliminate discrimination based on body size and provide people with the tools for self-empowerment through public education, advocacy, and member support.
