MUTEC 2010 - Successful new start in Leipzig
The MUTEC - Internationale Trade Fair for Museum and Exhibition Technology took place parallel to denkmal in Leipzig from 18th - 20th November 2010.

MUNICH, GERMANY, November 26, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The new start was successful! From 18th - 20th November, MUTEC - International Trade Fair for Museum and Exhibition Technology took place alongside denkmal - European Trade Fair for Conservation, Restoration and Old Building Renovation in Leipzig for the first time.
13400 visitors gathered in hall 2 of the new Leipzig fairgrounds during the three days. According to the trade fair statistics, 852 visitors came to see only MUTEC, another 1022 were interested in both shows. Therefore MUTEC was able to register 1874 trade visitors straightaway.

Thus, Angelika Albrecht, Managing director of the organizer Albrecht GmbH, summarised: "With their offer, the exhibitors of MUTEC have reacted to the requirements of museums in the digital age. The products enjoyed great popularity, visitors showed a lot of interest and the overall atmosphere was excellent."
The majority of the 64 exhibiting companies was also very content with the new start of the trade fair. Erwin Herpel, sales manager of bedea BERKENHOFF & DREBES GmbH, was pleased about the high quality of the expert talks. "This also lets us hope for an interesting follow-up business after the fair", the expert for lighting said.

Marco Brunner of a:xperience appreciated the new start in Leipzig: „The combination of denkmal and MUTEC succeeded", he said. Many visitors and exhibitors benefited from the synergies of both trade fairs.
Thanks to Leipzig's proximity to Eastern Europe, many visitors from Poland, Russia and the Baltic states came to MUTEC, but also museum experts from France, Holland and small and big houses from all states of Germany.

The attractive ancillary programme also contributed to the success of MUTEC. The MUTEC-Forum was filled to capacity during talks of Dr. Volker Rodekamp, Director of the Leipzig Museum of City History, during the presentation of Apps for Museums by Antenna Audio, Acoustiguide and Pausanio, or during the presentation of examples of media installations by Matthias Kutsch of impuls-design GmbH. "After the presentation we received a lot of positive feedback", Mr Kutsch said, who was also content with the trade fair in general: "We were able to establish good contacts."

Particularly the mixture of providers of applications for digital exhibition design and exhibitors with "traditional" products such as lighting systems, climate and measuring technology, ticketing systems, concepts for safety of exhibits or showcases appealed to the visitors, who mainly came from the field of museums and collections. But also private collectors visited the MUTEC. They were for example very interested in the showcases by Obrist Interior.

Thanks to the positive trend, the successful combination of denkmal and MUTEC will be continued: in Leipzig from 25th - 27th October 2012.
Many exhibitors have already shown interest in taking part again in two years time and said: "Goodbye, see you at the next MUTEC!"
