ROSEVILLA, CA, February 22, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Research for Cure has secured the attendance of the two leading scientists in spinal cord injury research as keynote speakers on April 9, 2011 at the Maidu Community Center in Roseville. Oswald Steward, Ph.D and Hans Keirstead, Ph.D, super-star scientists, will speak at the dinner, a benefit for the Reeve-Irvine Research Center, University of California, Irvine - recognized world-wide as the number one center for spinal cord injury research.
Dr. Oswald Steward, Director of the Reeve-Irvine Research Center, will discuss the huge breakthrough that has the neurology world so excited - for the first time, robust regeneration of nerve connections that control movement in spinal cord injury.
Dr. Hans Keirstead, world-renowned expert in embryonic stem cell research, will talk about his latest leading research in spinal cord injury, spinal muscular atrophy, ALS and clinical trials.
This opportunity to meet these scientists is being presented by Research for Cure Northern California, a nonprofit organization recently moved to Roseville that is entering it's tenth year of fundraising for the Center. Comprised of spinal cord injury survivors, their families and friends, this all-volunteer group has raised nearly half a million dollars for the Reeve-Irvine Research Center, allowing the Center to begin critical projects that otherwise may not have been funded.
An excellent Italian dinner, a silent auction and raffle promise an enlightening as well as enjoyable evening.
