The growing issue of security of energy supply is a concern for governments around the world, with a secure energy supply vital to the efficient functioning of global economies. Europe in particular has become increasingly dependent on imports for its gas supply and as such gas storage facilities are playing an ever greater role in providing both short term supply security and the flexibility to meet demand variations.
SMi Group's fifth annual Gas Storage conference will tackle the challenges of regulation, flexibility and security of supply to provide an in-depth understanding of the latest developments and technologies in gas storage solutions.
The conference will host a panel of industry experts including a keynote address from Giuseppina Squicciarini who is Head of Regulatory Economics at Ofgem. Giuseppina will look at gas storage regulations and the effect that this has on investment in the current economic climate. This session will also investigate the market related prerequisites for facilitating investment and look at what makes storage competitive.
Gas Storage 2011 will update personnel responsible for gas storage facilities with the market dynamics and future of gas storage and also the challenges and benefits of underground gas storage.
Gas Storage will take place on Monday 27th - Tuesday 28th June 2011 at the Millennium Gloucester Hotel in London.
